[One of] two poems by Palace Attendant Ishikawa no Hironari.

妻恋ひに鹿鳴く山辺の秋萩は露霜寒み盛り過ぎゆく

tumagopi ni
sika naku yamabe no
aki pagi pa
tuyu simo samumi
sakarisugiyuku
Loving his bride
A stag cries on the mountains’ edge where
The autumn bush clover
Chill with dew
Has passed its best.
