On seeing a certain lady destroying and disposing of the letters sent to her by a faithless former lover.

止めてだに今は見じとて嘆きつゝ誰が玉梓をいづちやるらむ

ima Fa mizi tote
nagekitutu
ta ga tamadusa wo
itduti yaruramu
Even those she kept,
‘I’ll look on them no more!’ she says,
Grieving;
Whose jewelled missives, and
Whither are they bound?
