ひとりぬるやまどりのをのしだり尾にしもおきまよふとこの月影

hitori nuru
yamadori no o no
shidario ni
shimo okimayou
toko no tsukikage
Sleeping alone,
The mountain pheasant’s tail
Hangs down,
Mistaking for fallen frost
The moonlight on his bed.[i]
