山川の岩こす波にうちそへて谷ひびくなりせみのもろごゑ

yamakawa no
iwa kosu nami ni
uchisoete
tani hibiku nari
semi no morogoe

Mountain torrents
Cross the rocks in waves
Along with
The echoes in the valley
From the swarming cicadas’ songs.
