ちりぬればとふ人もなし故郷ははなぞむかしのあるじなりける

chirinureba
tou hito mo nashi
furusato wa
hana zo mukashi no
aruji narikeru

When they have scattered,
No one comes to call
On my ancient home:
‘Tis the blossom, indeed, as long ago
That is the master!
