Eikyū hyakushu

Also known as Eikyū yo nen hyakushu 永久四年百首 (‘The Eikyū 4 Hundred Poem Sequences’), this collection is dated to the 20th day of the Twelfth Month, Eikyū 4 [24.1.1117]. It contains 701 poems, by seven poets.

The collection was compiled by Minamoto no Akinaka 源顕仲 (1064-1138) on the orders of Emperor Toba 鳥羽 (1103-1156; r. 1107-1123) as a memorial to Emperor Horikawa 堀河 (1079-1107; r. 1087-1107) and his empress, Tokushi 篤子 (1060-1114).
