Sanekata Shū 162

On the Seventh Day of the Seventh Month, to the Lady Sako in the Crown Prince’s palace.

七夕の緒にぬく玉もわがごとや夜半におきゐて衣かすらん

tanabata no
wo ni nuku tama mo
wa ga goto ya
yoFa ni okiwite
koromo kasuran
For the Seventh Day of the Seventh Month,
Gems are strung on thread;
One such as I,
Risen in the depths of night,
Might have clothes sodden by such an offering…
