日暮しに見れ共あかぬ女郎花のべにや今宵旅ねしなまし

袖ひちてわがてにむすぶ水のおもにあまつほしあひのそらをみるかな

wa ga te ni musubu
mizu no omo ni
ama tsu hoshiai no
sora wo miru kana
I wet my sleeves
With my hands scooping
Water from the surface where
The heavenly stars do meet:
Gazing at the sky, indeed…
