Might the foam upon the waters
Be its seeds, perhaps?
When the drifting waterweed
Twines atop a wave
Where it does grow…

Winter’s loneliness

The love within my heart,
By the River Asuka’s
Running waters
Will not be outdone!

Avoiding others’ eyes within the forest
Slept a bird that

Sobbing, does depart!

Pining for the water’s invitation
A hapless waterweed, am I;
And even should my tracks end here,
Is there any who would seek me still?
