Reaped Rice Fields 稂田

見わたせば山田の稂またはえてほにいづる程になりにけるかな

miwataseba
yamada no hitsuchi
mata haete
ho ni izuru hodo ni
narinikeru kana

When I gaze across
The stubble on the mountain paddies,
Yet still growing and
Ripening into ears
It is!
