When a lady was ill, and I had not been to see her for a long time, I wrote this, telling her to look at the edge.

戀しともえやはいぶきのさしも草よそにもゆれどかひなかりけり

I yearn for you yet,
I cannot say: on Mount Ibuki
Scrubby mugwort
Burns far away, though
