KKS VI: 327

Composed at a poetry competition held by Her Majesty, the Empress, during the Kanpyō period.

みよしのの山の白雪ふみわけて入りにし人のおとづれもせぬ

miyosino no
yama no sira yuki
Fumiwakete
irinisi Fito no
otodure mo senu
Through fair Yoshino
Mountain’s white snow fall
Forging,
He entered in,
And not a line returned

Mibu no Tadamine
壬生忠岑

KKS VI: 325

Composed at the place he was staying when he had gone to the Nara capital.

みよしのの山の白雪つもるらしふるさとさむくなりまさるなり

miyosino no
yama no sirayuki
tumorurasi
Furusato samuku
narimasaru nari
On fair Yoshino
Mountain white snow fall
Drifts high, it seems,
For in this ancient place the chill
Grows ever stronger.

Sakanoue no Korenori

MYS IX: 1714

[One of] two poems from an imperial excursion to the Yoshino palace.

落ちたぎち流るる水の岩に觸れ淀める淀に月の影見ゆ

oti tagiti
nagaruru midu nö
ipa ni pure
yödömeru yödö ni
tukï nö kagë miyu
Falling, foaming
Flowing water
Meets the rocks and
In the stillness of the backwater
Shines the light of the moon.

The author of the above poem is presently unknown.
