Composed as a poem on the beginning of Winter.

Since Winter’s coming-
In but a single night or maybe two-
Upon the bamboo grass
Leaves, the frost
Has left no gap at all. |

Composed saying a man, who had stopped coming, had moved his affections elsewhere.

On Arima mountain
Ina’s bamboo-grass fields
With the gusting wind
Whisper, ‘Like that! Like that!’
Is that how I’ll forget him? |

In the autumn fields
Parting bamboo grass in the morning
My sleeves
On the nights when, without a meet, I head home,
Are far, far wetter. |
