木がくれて物をおもへば空蝉の羽におく露のきえやかへらん

kogakurete
mono o omoeba
utsusemi no
ha ni oku tsuyu no
kie ya kaeran

Hidden by the trees, and
Sunk in gloomy thought,
As upon a cicada shell’s
Wing, a fallen dewdrop,
Would I vanish away…
