磯のかみふるきみやこは神さびてたたるにしあれや人もかよはぬ

iso no kami
furuki miyako wa
kami sabite
tatarunishi are ya
hito mo kayowanu
Here at Isonokami
The ancient capital was
Touched by the divine:
Was it cursed, perhaps, so
Folk no longer travel there?[i]
