Taifu 大輔 is believed to have been the daughter of Prince Yasuakira’s wet-nurse, and so would have been close to him in childhood and entered his service when older. By all accounts, she was an alluring woman as is evidenced by the fact that she exchanged poems with a number of the great men of her time.
