Rough hewn logs

Both the previous poem and this one contain references to a well-known kagura song: Asakura 朝倉.

朝倉や
木丸殿に
我が居れば
我が居れば
名のりをしつつ
行くはたれ

asakura ya
kimarodono ni
wa ga woreba
wa ga woreba
nanori wo situtu
yuku Fa tare
O, Asakura!
If within a hall of rough-hewn logs
I am,
If I rest there,
Announcing of his name and
Moving on – who’s that?
