ながむればさびしくもあるか煙たつ室の八島の雪の下もえ

keburi tatsu
muro no yashima no
yuki no shita moe

When I gaze across
How I am filled with lonely sadness;
Smoke rising from
Muro no Yashima,
Smouldering beneath the snow…
