Murasakino 紫野, which I have translated here as ‘Gromwell Field’, was a cremation ground in the northern part of the capital located near the Daitoku-ji 大徳寺 temple. Sanekata is using poetic license here, as En’yû was actually cremated in Nishiyama 西山 to the west of the city.
