あまのはらふりさけみればますかがみきよき月よに雁鳴きわたる

ama no hara
furisakemireba
masukagami
kiyoki tsukiyo ni
kari nakiwataru

When, upon the plain of Heaven
I upwards turn my gaze,
Across the clear mirror of
A pure moonlit night
The geese go crying as they cross.
