思いる身はふかくさのあきのつゆたのめしすゑやこがらしの風

mi wa fukakusa no
aki no tsuyu
tanomeshi sue ya
kogarashi no kaze
Dwelling on my thoughts
At Fukakusa, deep among the grasses,
The autumn’s dewfall comes
With your broken promises?
Or the chill and bitter wind…

Has it dawned?
Oh, my sleeves are chill!
In the village of Fushimi
In Sugawara
With the first breeze of autumn…

よしのがはきしの山ぶきさきにけりみねのさくらはちりはてぬらん

yoshinogawa
kishi no yamabuki
sakinikeri
mine no sakura wa
chirihatenuran
By the river Yoshino
The globeflowers on the bank
Have come into bloom;
On the peak the cherries
Have likely all completely fallen.
