Dwelling on my thoughts
At Fukakusa, deep among the grasses,
The autumn’s dewfall comes
With your broken promises?
Or the chill and bitter wind… |

Oh, my sleeves are chill!
In the village of Fushimi
In Sugawara
With the first breeze of autumn… |

And its sacred groves of Ikuta
Autumn is come. |

O, cherry blossom,
I wonder were you dream or truth?

Breeze of spring around the peak. |

In the scent of plum
Lie unanswered questions from long ago-
The Spring moon
Makes no response as its light
Shines on my sleeves. |
