ささのはのみ山もそよにあられふりさむき霜よを独かもねん

sasa no ha no
miyama mo soyo ni
arare furi
samuki shimo o
hitori kamo nen

Dwarf bamboo leaves
Deep within the mountains rustle with
A fall of hail—
With this frost, so cold,
O, must I sleep alone?
