Love and Tanabata.

七夕にあらぬわが身のなぞもかく年に稀なる人を待つらん

The Weaver Maid
My sorry self is not, but[1]
Why is it that,
Rarely, but once a year,
That man’s visit I seem to await?

Again, I cannot wait, but
At the dawning
Rise and go—my path filled
With lasting dew, it seems.

The dawn’s

Leaves me lost!

Sobbing, does depart!
